POSTPXRNOUTOPIA / festival club
Post Pxrn Film Festival Warsaw is not only a place to explore sexuality through the language of film, but also a safe space for an embodied, performative visit to POSTPXRNOUTOPIA. For the duration of the festival, we welcome all festival guests to the festival club at the Muranów Cinema – an inclusive space for meetings and exchange of ideas. Our encounters will be complemented by a specially created artistic programme, consisting of performative activities intersecting burlesque, drag, ballroom and club kid culture, body-art, choreography, BDSM practices, and performance art – all of which approach sexuality in innovative and courageous ways.
Taking as its starting point a wide range of expression, different identities, and manifestations of the beauty of non-normativity, the practice of all invited artists revolves around practices focussing on the body. A body that can stimulate us intellectually, emotionally, and politically. A body that can distort the frames of patriarchy, deconstruct the existing canons, and expand the dominant narrative with marginalised perspectives. A body that is safe, sensitive, creative, radical, and liberated.
Anyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, identity, or any other factors that can lead to discrimination, is welcome and affirmed in POSTPXRNOUTOPIA. We strive to create an aura of acceptance, respect, and security – a space where everyone can express themselves freely. We want the festival to be a platform that can encourage exploration, investigation, and questioning of different aspects of sexuality. We hope it can allow us to consensually push boundaries, confront stereotypes, and build a community based on tolerance, understanding, and equality. POSTPXRNOUTOPIA is intended to be a space where everyone can find inspiring interactions and express themselves freely.
Performances in the Muranów Cinema – free admission.
POSTPXRNUTOPIA in Bar Studio – ticketed event.
